Description

Noggerath® Spiral Compactor SCD – Conveying, pressing and dewatering of screenings in wastewater treatment plants and in industrial processes.

Noggerath® spiral compactor SCD is distinguished by its unique spiral technology, which moves in a U-shaped chute on a replaceable abrasion coating, ensuring not only reliable material transport, but also clog-free dewatering and compaction.

The Noggerath® spiral compactor SCD  has been successfully used for many years in a wide range of industries and wastewater treatment plants around the world and offers the following advantages:

  • An economical and compact system. The Noggerath® Spiral Compactor SCD is a conveying, dewatering and pressing unit in one system, helping to save time and resources and reduce waste.

The unique spiral design, with no need for intermediate and end supports, allows the most complex materials (dry, wet, viscous, sticky, adhesive, dusty, bulk or abrasive materials) to be conveyed, ensuring uninterrupted and efficient transport of materials without any disturbance.

  • Advantages of the compression zone. Using a spring-loaded back-pressure valve in the outlet, the compacted materials form a friction plug and are compressed and discharged simultaneously, ensuring optimal and safe handling of the screened materials.

How it works

At the beginning of the process, when the solids enter the U-shaped conveying trough through the hopper, they are picked up by a powerful conveying spiral and the screened materials are already statically abraded in the initial zone of the perforated bottom. The spiral rotates in a chute on an abrasion-resistant liner and transports the materials sequentially to the compaction zone. In the compaction zone, which consists of a perforated or specially constructed wire mesh, the materials are drained. By means of a spring-loaded back-pressure damper in the outlet, the compacted materials form a friction plug and are simultaneously compressed and further drained. A wash system is available to keep the compaction area clean and an inspection cover ensures safe maintenance. Once the process is complete, the compacted and drained materials are disposed of in containers or hygienic bags. This smooth operating process ensures efficient material handling from start to finish.
