Long dry spells followed by sudden, intense rainfall pose challenges for both water storage and wastewater management. Therefore, it is very important that:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Every drop of rainwater would be collected and stored,<\/li>\n\n<li>And the excess flow \u2013 smoothly cleaned of debris and impurities \u2013 would be discharged into the environment without harming it.<\/li><\/ul><p>This is precisely the solution that has been implemented in the Malata district, where a green park has been created with hidden overflow screens that not only protect against flooding but also ensure water quality before it reaches the sensitive coastal region.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Problem \u2013 excess flow<\/h3><p>On rainy days, the city&#8217;s sewer system was unable to cope with the increased flow. Once capacity limits were exceeded, some of the untreated mixture of rainwater and sewage could enter the mouth of the Ferrol River, a sensitive natural area.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The solution \u2013 Noggerath\u00ae overflow screens<\/h3><p>To protect nature, a rainwater park was built near residential areas to collect, store, and filter excess runoff before releasing it into the natural environment.
