Noggerath® Rotary Drum Screen RSI-DD a combined sewage treatment plant that combines fine screening, transport of sieved materials, dewatering, compaction and disposal, together with an optional additional washing area. In contrast to conventional technology, the sieve drum and the screw conveyor rotate independently of each other. So that the drum sieve can be placed in the inlet zone without the need for a suspended swing arm, which means that the inlet zone is always open and free from blockages.

Benefits
- Bearingless double drive.This double drive of the RSI-DD drum grate allows the optimal adjustment of the drum and screw rotation rhythm according to the composition of the specific waste water. This means that the material to be screened can be conveyed to the conveyor hopper independently of the rotational rhythm of the drum. And the complete emptying of the conveyor can be carried out independently of the drum operation.
- Open inlet area. A completely free screening area is particularly important for low flow losses, a more efficient particulate filtration process and maintenance.
- Compact design. The compact design, which accommodates fine screening, transport of sieved materials, dewatering, compaction, together with optional washing, ensures optimum use of space, low height above the top edge of the channel, while maintaining high efficiency in solids separation and cost savings on additional infrastructure.
- Easy maintenance, the drive motors are easily accessible and the wear parts are designed in segments, allowing easy replacement of only the worn parts. This ensures minimal spare parts consumption and easy maintenance.
- Screw conveyor with brushes. The screw conveyor with special brushes screwed to the lower part of the screw effectively cleans the drainage area. The brushes, manufactured in segments, ensure easy maintenance and replacement.
- Long service life. The grates are made of high quality stainless steel and treated in an acid bath to ensure durability and resistance to aggressive environmental conditions

- Radial Eco Drive RED drive, which is a unique and patented radial eco gear drive.
- RSI-DD-T / RSI-DD-T-RED are container version, which is used when installation in a channel is not possible.
How it works
Noggerath® Rotary Drum Screen RSI-DD is mounted at an angle of 35° in the channel. Particulate matter from the incoming flow, which exceeds the mesh size of the screen, accumulates on the inner surface of the drum cylinder until the drum gradually clogs. When the predetermined upstream water level is reached, the first gear is engaged and the screening drum starts to rotate. The settled solids rotate with the drum and, under the influence of the brush and spray system above the drum, fall by gravity into the hopper in the centre of the drum. Once in the pressing zone, the sieved waste is drained, compacted and removed or transported for further processing. An integrated drum flushing system and brush cleans the drum and the auger brushes remove solids from the inner surface of the drainage zone during rotation. This prepares the unit for the next cycle.

Additional options
Noggerath® Rotary Drum Screen RSI-DD can be added
1. Radial Eco Drive RED, This version uses a pinion drive that drives the propeller via an external pinion gear. This ensures that the slurry formed from the non-collapsible and long-wearing parts of the effluent does not wrap around the rotating shaft, clogging the discharge area and slowing down the unit. A completely free discharge zone solves the main problem of clogging in the discharge zone of waste water treatment plants.
2. RSI-DD-T / RSI-DD-T-RED container version. This version is used as a compact receiving station for incoming wastewater discharged from vacuum trucks. It is used when there is no channel for the inlet of the plant and is connected by flanged yokes.
